Dawson Oaks Trailer Park Windows specs and voice-chat notes

Dawson Oaks Trailer Park is a Windows-only Steam game. There is no Mac or Linux depot on the store page, and no console SKU. If your group is mixed-platform, the Windows box is the one that has to run the park. The planned unlock is 17 September 2026 at $9.99 USD; these numbers are the published Steam specs, not a promise that every toaster will hold a twelve-person voice mesh on day one.

Steam does not list a recommended CPU. Treat the i5-6400 as the floor unless the studio posts a new table. The jump from 4 GB to 8 GB of RAM and from a GTX 960 to a GTX 1080 Ti is the comfort band for a game that keeps several player voices, a HUD, and a trailer-park scene in memory at once.

AMD cards in the same generation as a 960 or 1080 Ti should be fine in practice, but we will not invent a Radeon line the store did not publish. Update GPU drivers before 17 September. DirectX 11 is the listed API; do not expect a DX12 checkbox to save a dying card.

Voice chat is a CPU and network tax

This is proximity voice, not a push-to-talk lobby sitting in a quiet menu. Several people can talk at once while you are looking at a HUD that already shows tasks and sanity. If your CPU is at the i5-6400 line, close the browser with twelve Discord tabs, close overlay recording at 4K, and do not livestream the first learning round. If your upload is unstable, your voice will pop in and out and everyone will think you are hiding a crime.

Practical voice notes:

• Use a wired headset if you can. Bluetooth adds latency that sounds like guilt.
• Test input levels in Windows before you join. Clipping mics make meetings unplayable.
• Cap FPS if the GPU fans drown your microphone.
• Full controller support is listed, but a keyboard still helps for chat and menus on a desktop. Controllers are welcome; they do not replace a mic.

LAN versus online

Steam lists Online PvP, LAN PvP, Online Co-op, and LAN Co-op. Broadband is on both spec tables because the default night is online. LAN is the spare tire: same house, same switch, fewer internet surprises. If launch-week Steam voice or matchmaking stutters, park people on one network and keep playing. The rules do not change. Sanity urges, a public Supervisor, a hidden Snitch, and meetings still work in a living room.

LAN does not remove the need for the lobby checklist. You can still scream a Dealer task across a couch. You can still crime in the Supervisor’s face. LAN only removes the router from the list of suspects.

Storage, installs, and launch night

5 GB is small by 2026 standards. Leave more than 5 GB free anyway so Steam can stage the download. Do not install onto a dying USB drive. If you are gifting copies, send Steam gifts, not key-shop strings; the codes hub explains why leftover playtest packages are a trap.

Achievements are listed. They will not be a reason to lower graphics. Turn the quality down if the 960-class card hitchs during meetings; hitching in a vote is worse than muddy textures on a trailer.

Languages and mature content on the same PC

English has full audio. French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Dutch, Polish, Swedish, and Turkish have interface support. Pick the language before the first lobby so nobody is reading a different meeting prompt. Mature content (crime, alcohol and drugs, cartoon knockouts, suggestive comedy, no explicit sex) does not change the spec table, but it does change who you invite.
